Notes From the Nerd's Notebook: Super Power Breakdown: Death Whisper

Good evening bones, ghouls, and mundane friends,

Welcome back to My Gothic Mind. I am your host, Nightmare, and for today's Super Power Breakdown we'll talk about a power possessed by the Angel of Death, banshees and other harbingers of death.

Users of the Death Whisper power are able to connect to a sort of supernatural network, which broadcasts messages about the dead or the dying. This gives them the ability to hear the voices of the dead, though this power shouldn't be confused for mediumship, which is the power to have a two-way conversation with the spirits of previously dead or newly dead. Despite not being able to voice their opinions to the dead, they can obtain advice from the dead, as well as sense and/or predict the death of a living person. The death whisper ability is often associated with communing, mediumship (as the user is granted the power to hear the voices of the deceased), and supernatural senses.

As with almost all powers, there are a few limitations. For this particular power, the user may not be able to control their ability and may not be able to switch it off. Doctors may endow them with some kind of mental disability as a result of being able to hear voices. Unfortunately, not all spirits aren't benevolent, and the deceased or even malevolent spirits may give false advice. And last but not least, although the user has the ability to listen to the dead, they have no way of openly communicating with them.
