Page From the Nerd's Notebook: Languages I Find Attractive

Good evening nerds, geeks and gamers,

First things first: I am a nerd to the core. Linguistics, or things dealing with languages, have always had my attention. In actuality, Spanish was my first language, but I lost all reason to speak it. Despite being hindered vocally, I can still understand what is being discussed in the language. My second was English, and I speak this the most fluently. These are languages I find attractive and why. As a bonus, I'll throw in whether or not I am learning or planning on learning the language.

1. Czech: In all honesty, I was working on a novel for publication and in my books, I like my main characters to be foreign. While trying to come up with a nationality for my beloved character, I was on the maps app on my iPod and came across a country called Czech Republic, and shortly thereafter, I kind of developed an obsession with all things Czech which is still strong today, though I'm surprised that I don't listen to any Czech bands. It's a bit strange. In any case, I am currently learning the language

2. French: Don't ask why, but I honestly feels like this is one of the most romantic languages you can converse with me in (the first being Czech, obviously), and my love for the language was actually instilled in me by m mother, whom is fluent in English, Spanish and French. The love for the language was brought out by the song Radio Song by the French band Superbus. Now I'm planning on learning it.

3. ASL (American Sign Language): There was something I always found really cool about conversing using gestures and passes with your hands, arms and fingers. I was first truly introduced to this style of linguistics on the show Switched at Birth, and I was merely captivated by the way they held conversations with gestures, and how fast they performed these gestures. I am currently learning ASL.

4. Japanese: Originally, it was because I am an Otaku and I want to watch anime without reading the subtitles, even though I love reading subtitles.
